A Modern, Layered Lake House You Can Stay In
Beautiful, boutique stays are always my favorite. This modern, layered lake house is available to stay. Remodeled and designed by Tiffany Leigh Design, it is now officially at the top of my AirBnb wish list. The perfect balance of summer nostalgia and modern amenities, this neutral cottage is perfectly peaceful. Just off the shore of Lake Ontario, this lakeside hideaway will have you wishing it was your forever home.
The interior design team at Tiffany Leigh Design were approached by the property owners to make smart, minimal renovation decisions. Originally, this lake house had a questionable ladder leading up to the spacious loft area. Doors dotted the living room walls, making it impossible to comfortably fit a sofa in the space. The TLD team cleverly removed the steep ladder and designed a safe, sturdy staircase. This brilliant swap made room for the beautiful furniture layout including: a spacious sofa, cool and comfy leather accent chair, the built-in window seat, and a quaint cafe table for games or working. The innovative, yet conservative, reconfiguring made room for up to eight people to comfortably stay at the property.

In addition to problem solving the living room, Tiffany Leigh designed the renovated kitchen. What resulted in a relaxed, yet sophisticated neural kitchen, may be my favorite part of the house. Perfectly equipped for short weekend getaways or month-long summer escapes, this is a masterclass in a functional but beautiful space.
Budget and return on investment were frontrunners in the priorities of this modern, layered lake house. Because this was the family’s first venture in short term rentals, they leaned on the expertise of Tiffany Leigh Design to secure durable, high-quality and cost effective materials. From the gorgeous quartz countertops that wrap to the backsplash to the low profile cabinetry painted in Benjamin Moore’s Natural Cream.
