Work Your Closet’s Holiday Home Tour
Jamie of Work Your Closet is on our shortlist of bloggers we go to for inspiration time and time again. Not only does she produce consistently beautiful content on her Insta feed and lifestyle blog, but she has a real knack for thoughtfully styled moments that always catch our eye. This holiday season, Jamie was kind enough to invite us for a tour of her Winter Park, Florida home, and it is best summarized as natural + minimalist holiday style perfection.
Talk to us about your approach to decorating for the holidays! We love your emphasis on incorporating natural greenery elements throughout your home.
When it comes to decorating for the holidays, my approach is always to keep it simple. Holidays can be stressful and overwhelming, but decorating should be everything but! I try to repurpose a lot of things from the years prior, but with this being the first Christmas in our new home, I had to approach it a little differently. We did buy some new faux trees and garland, but nothing beats the real thing. Natural greenery from Trader Joe’s or your local nursery can do wonders in a space! Plus, the smell! Tuck some greenery on a frame, drape it over a window or light fixture… the possibilities are endless. I know whatever I do to add some sparkle and holiday spirit, the kids will enjoy it, too!

We’d love to hear about any meaningful or heirloom pieces you display during the holidays!
We’ve started a lovely ornament collection, which I hope to keep and pass down to the boys one day. My husband and I have a few from when we were younger and even from our dating days. I’m a sucker for seasonal handmade art pieces with the boys’ footprints or handprints, so I tend to put those on display. An heirloom that is always out but just a bit more festive during this time of year is my grandmother’s cookie jar – right now, it’s filled with pinecones and ornaments!
Picking a Christmas tree always tops the list! We collect the nametags from the trees we pick out every year. It’s fun to go back and see what our trees were previously named. With my son, Palmer being almost 2, he’s definitely into the spirit of Christmas a lot more, so I’m looking forward to taking more strolls around the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights and to see his facial expression every morning when Carol the Elf moves!
