A California Traditional Holiday Home
Today’s holiday project tour is a cozy California Traditional home in Sacramento, designed by Miche Victoria Interior Design. A little over a year after completing the project for their client’s family, they returned to the home to decorate for Christmas for a local Sacramento event – The Sacred Heart Holiday Home Tour. This 1924 Tudor Home home is filled with beautiful, understated details, timeless furnishings passed down through generations, and a little extra holiday cheer for the season.
Miche and her team were flattered to be considered for this project, especially after learning about the sweet history behind this local Sacramento family. The home was shared between the client and her parents while growing up, staying in the family even after her mother passed. With the addition of a new baby to the client’s own family, her father and she decided to switch homes so that she could continue her life in the space she grew up in. Miche and her team were able to honor the original character of the interior while giving it a little facelift and some new functional additions. Decorated for the holidays, the space is extra sweet and ready to be filled with new memories while honoring the old.

Touches of Holiday Greenery
Hanging wreaths in unexpected places is a great way to bring a festive feeling to any space. We love how Miche added wreaths big and small throughout her client’s home, highlighting a few of the space’s most charming features in the process.
While remodeling this home, Miche and her team worked with Heirloom Builders to refresh and restore the space while retaining most of the original features. They kept the hallway arches, interior doors, and hardware, refinished the beautiful original parquet floors, and had the original windows restored by a local Artisan.
A Lovely Living Space
The living room feels straight out of a holiday movie, decked out with garland on the fireplace, ribbon tied around the sconces, and a timeless Christmas tree. Miche filled the original shelves flanking the fireplace with understated yet playful decor, and mixed stockings complete the look.
A vintage rug, a blue striped accent chair, and a slope-arm sofa bring the California traditional look to the room, while simple white walls keep things light and airy.
The California Classic Kitchen
As the heart of the home, the kitchen continues the classic and bright West Coast holiday feeling. Filled with fresh greenery and a few fun details, this space is ready for gathering with friends and loved ones. When Miche and her team began remodeling this home, they re-imagined the original kitchen layout by moving some walls and adding the island and new appliances to transform the function of the space. Today, the kitchen is filled with natural light and textural elements, making it perfect for celebrations.
A Cheerful Powder Room
We love a little holiday cheer in the powder room, and this small but mighty space is a delight. Miche designed a new powder room for this home with high wainscoting and grass-cloth wallpaper, a cast iron utility-style sink, and white penny tile floors.
