A Cheerful Texas Family Home
When designer Morgan Goodwin’s clients purchased their new, modern home in Georgetown, Texas, their primary goal was to add some life to the space without detracting from the natural light from the expansive windows flanking the exterior. Morgan helped them create the home of their dreams, filled with colorful art and cozy furnishings for gathering and entertaining friends and family.
With guidance from Morgan and her background and experience in fine art, the clients began the process by procuring an original art collection that would blend their love of color and genial, easy-going personalities. Having moved back to Texas from Boston, they wanted to celebrate the landscape and cheerful southern manner. Original works by Mary Ball, Erin Lynn Welsh, Starla Michelle, & Morgan Goodwin Art completed the space and added personality and fun to each room.

A Light-filled Eclectic Living Room
Morgan kept the living room neutral and airy, allowing the massive windows and streaming natural light to be the focal point. A large Amber Lewis coffee table is the centerpiece, grounding nearby seating collections and encouraging space for groups to gather and converse. White Oak shelves were installed to the right of the fireplace to display growing book collections, family heirlooms, and travel treasures.
A Green Infused Dining Room
Color was an important point of discussion for Morgan and her clients when designing this home, and because the couple shared a love of green, the scheme for the dining room was evident. Verdant velvet mohair dining chairs and a Lemieux Et Cie rug were the perfect combination to pair with a bold purple southern landscape painting by Erin Lynn Welsh.
An Art Inspired Primary bedroom
Often, inspiration for a design starts with a single piece as a jumping-off point. In the case of the primary bedroom, Morgan drew inspiration from a Mary Ball original artwork the couple fell in love with. The bedframe and nearby textiles mimicked the artwork’s bright red and green pigments. They installed white oak shelves in a shallow nook to allow the homeowner to display her growing green pottery collection, books, and personal treasures.
A Chic Home Office
When your home office is where you spend hours of your day, it should feel filled with personality and charm. Morgan designed this playful, sophisticated office as a masculine retreat for its gregarious, high-profile attorney. She layered various blue hues in the wall color, textiles, artworks, and accessories. A cozy seating nook and bar-scape allow the owner to enjoy five o’clock on a second whim.
