This Organic Modern Home Was Designed For Entertaining
Whether you have room for two or twelve, the entertaining spaces in our homes feel more important than ever with the season for gatherings right around the corner. When Realm Design Co. started working on this project a few years ago, the homeowner’s top priority was ensuring each space was designed to entertain their many friends and family members.
Realm furnished the entire home, including a primary bedroom, two guest bedrooms, a casita, living spaces, dining spaces, outdoor spaces, a media room, and a man cave to accommodate cozy get-togethers of all kinds.

Creative & Cozy Furniture Layouts
Designing furniture layouts is all about finding creative solutions to make the most of your square footage, especially when working with an open-concept floor plan. In the main living and dining space, the dining area feels like an extension of the living room with cozy banquette seating to provide the perfect transition space between the lounge and kitchen areas.
Mixing seating is a great way to make your furniture layout feel thoughtful and curated, but it isn’t just for the living room. Assorted dining chairs and banquette seating in this dining space bring an unexpected twist to the look and invite more intimate gatherings.
Seating Curated For Gathering
When the area allows, incorporating two sofas is an excellent alternative to going the sectional route without sacrificing plenty of seating space. A rustic wooden coffee table anchors the room, while two large ottomans make for even more flexible seating that can be moved around or propped up against the couch for movie night. Wood, linen, leather, and velvet textures work together to bring plenty of texture that warms up the modern architecture throughout the home.
Sliding doors opening up to the living room effortlessly bring the indoor and outdoor gathering spaces together.
Open-Air Living
The Realm design team understood the assignment regarding indoor-outdoor living in this home, taking advantage of the sunny Dallas weather with an outdoor lounge space that expands the living space. Layered accessories and textiles make this area almost indistinguishable from an indoor living room and add extra functionality for hosting in fresh air.
Thoughtful Guest Suites
If waking up in a guest room with beautiful sprawling views isn’t a luxury enough, each of the guest spaces in this home is thoughtfully designed with elevated furnishings and ultra-cozy textures. Adding little details to your guest’s space can go a long way in making them feel at home — we love how the Realm team styled this room with a candle, some greenery, a full-length mirror, and additional seating for those staying to retreat.
