A Relaxed Take on a Southampton Estate

When LTA Interiors took on this Southampton project, there was already a strong sense of trust in place. The firm had previously worked with the clients on their city apartment, so this home came with an established creative shorthand — and a clear opportunity to do something different.

This time around, the goal was to create a beach house that felt like its own world: lighter, softer, and more relaxed than their urban residence, while still reflecting the clients’ highly developed point of view. That balance became the through line for the entire home. Spanning roughly 10,000 square feet, the residence was transformed from a traditional Hamptons estate into an organic modern retreat layered with natural textures, sculptural forms, and a palette inspired by sand, stone, and soft coastal blues.

There’s a calm confidence to the way the house comes together. It feels elevated, but never stiff. Artful, but still deeply livable. And that’s largely a reflection of the relationship behind it. As LTA Interiors describes it, the clients were “thoughtful, collaborative, and deeply design-savvy,” with an openness to new ideas that gave the team room to push the project further creatively.

A Foyer To Create a Sense of Arrival

The foyer is one of the most defining moments in the house and sets the tone right away. In the double-height entry, a custom stone table by Arda Yeniay sits atop a bespoke Fayette Studio rug, while a chandelier by Giopato & Coombes draws the eye upward and helps anchor the scale of the space. Annie Morris’s “Stack 8” adds a playful burst of color and personality.

Lighting was especially important here. Because it’s visible the moment you enter, LTA Interiors treated it as a statement moment — sculptural and memorable, but still warm and inviting.

A Living Room That Sets the Tone

The living room carries that same balance forward and feels like one of the clearest expressions of the home’s design language. Warm wood millwork and Jerusalem stone bring richness and structure, while rounded furnishings soften the room. A Cliff Young sofa and Stephan Bishop coffee table echo the organic shapes seen throughout the home.

Grounded by a Fayette Studio rug and finished with a custom Larose Guyon chandelier, the room feels refined but welcoming. It also shows how the project pushed LTA Interiors creatively, with natural materials and lesser-known brands adding to its distinct point of view.

A Relaxed + Intentional Kitchen

The kitchen underwent one of the home’s biggest transformations. What was once glossy white lacquer became a warmer, more tactile space with honed Naica quartzite, matte brass hardware, and a softer overall palette. Square in Circle pendants add a clean architectural note, while Thomas Hayes swivel stools keep the room comfortable for daily use.

Just beyond it, the breakfast area brings in a slightly more playful energy. A scalloped-edge custom table by Muskoka pairs with Overgaard & Dyrman chairs and a Larose Guyon chandelier overhead. Together, the two spaces feel polished without losing their sense of ease.

Bedrooms Designed with Personality and Restraint

The private spaces continue the home’s balance of individuality and cohesion. In the primary bedroom, LTA Interiors created a restful retreat with a custom four-poster bed wrapped in Edelman leather, upholstered and wallpapered walls, a Fayette Studio rug, and a Lindsey Adelman chandelier. The result feels quiet, layered, and calming.

The children’s bedrooms each have their own personality while staying connected to the larger palette of the home. The girls’ room features soft blues, a Muskoka four-poster bed, and a sculptural Cuff Studio chandelier, while the boys’ room introduces more contrast through a custom leather bed, Gubi Pacha chairs, textured carpet, and a playful Materia light fixture. Even the guest rooms maintain the same thoughtful, polished feel.
