Step Inside This Artful New York Family Home
Tucked inside a mid-century co-op in the heart of New York City, this project is a thoughtful blend of refinement and warmth. Designed by Danielle Rose Design Co. for a creative family of four, the home strikes a rare balance: elevated yet approachable, artful yet entirely livable. Every room is layered with detail—from custom millwork to soulful finishes—creating a space that feels both considered and deeply personal.
Danielle first connected with the homeowners through Instagram. But it wasn’t until they walked through her space at the Hampton Designer Showhouse that they fully understood her level of craftsmanship—and knew they’d found their designer. From that point forward, it was a collaborative journey toward a space that reflects both the soul and style of the family who lives there.
“They wanted a sanctuary from the city that felt welcoming, textural, and a little eclectic,” Danielle explains. “It was important to them that the design didn’t just look beautiful—it needed to live beautifully too.”

First Impressions
You know you’re in for something special from the moment you step through the door. Danielle’s attention to detail is evident from the moment you step through the door. The entry sets the tone with a double archway and dramatic Calacatta Capri marble walls framing a floating white oak console. Rich tones of emerald, plum, and ochre in the stone echo throughout the rest of the home.

A Sleek Custom Kitchen
The kitchen is quietly show-stopping—sleek but never cold. A Calacatta Caldia marble waterfall island meets rich white oak cabinetry, with soft taupe-painted uppers and bespoke flush-mount lighting. A custom hood and sculptural Sun at Six’ Moon’ stools complete the warm, modern aesthetic.

The Jewel Box Den
In the family room, Danielle went all in. Aux Abris wallpaper and muddy crimson trim (Sherwin Williams Carriage Door) wrap the space in moody intimacy. Curved Lawson Fenning seating in deep Schumacher velvet, block prints by Susan Deliss, and a bold blue Jaipur Living rug create a layered, textural hideaway that’s perfect for curling up or catching up.

Dining, Elevated
A reminder that ceilings are design real estate, the dining room stuns with Nickey Kehoe’s Intaglio wallpaper above and a sculptural Sistema Solare chandelier (via 1stDibs) below. The table by Jason Miller for De La Espada anchors the room, paired with a tambour buffet and punchy teal Spitzmiller lamps.

Living Room Lounge
Casual yet composed, the living room mixes materials and moods effortlessly. A buttery leather sofa from Four Hands sits alongside Lawson Fenning Carillo chairs, a Jenni Kayne armchair, and a soft Soho Home rug. A piece by artist Ally Sheppard ties the palette together with quiet confidence.

A Primary Suite That Soothes
The primary bedroom was designed to refresh and restore. Inspired by Michael Smith’s Indian Flower fabric (used for the custom shades and pillows), the room layers a Maiden Home bed, a teal-accented rug, and art by Renee Bouchon to calming effect.
Just next door, the bath continues the vibe with Calacatta Caldia marble, Fantini fixtures, and Apparatus Tassel sconces. Textural finishes—reeded cabinetry, zellige mosaic floors, and dolomite herringbone walls—turn this compact space into a sanctuary.

Whimsy Meets Sophistication in the Kids’ Rooms
For the girls’ bedroom and bath, Danielle brought in playful sophistication. Liberty of London’s Quill wallpaper sets the stage, layered with Molly Mahon’s block-printed textiles for a cozy, lived-in charm. In the bathroom, a Rosa Grecia marble vanity adds just the right touch of pink polish.
