A 1980s French Tudor Turned Chic Entertaining Space
Designer Taylor Zack of Rever Design Co. is no stranger to creating spaces that feel equal parts bold, modern, and organic. When she began working on today’s home tour project for her clients, a tech entrepreneur and a woman in fashion, she was excited to help them curate a home that reflected their love for travel, suited their creative lifestyles, and felt warm and inviting.
Originally built in the 1980s, this French Tudor-style home needed a refresh, so the homeowners brought in the Rever team to furnish the main communal spaces and remodel the fireplace in the living room. While the couple didn’t want to discount the home’s traditional exterior, they wanted to lean into a more modern style and find a way to balance form and function in their new home.
After opening the space to bring in light and giving the fireplace a stunning plaster makeover, Taylor curated beautiful furniture pieces to fit in with her client’s day-to-day lives. Setting The Tone in The Entryway
Four handmade round mirrors in the entryway by Studio H set the tone for the space and added the perfect amount of texture and interest to invite you in. Incorporating pieces that carry light in the entryway is a fool-proof way to complete a vignette, and this look is a perfect example of how to do it with an alternative to a traditional mirror. We love how Taylor paired the metallic pièce de résistance with a wooden console table, vintage decor, and woven stools to bring various layers of dimension.
Relaxed & Chic in The Living Room
A piece of Parisian-inspired artwork centers the living room scene, which opens up to the backyard and offers the California dream of indoor-outdoor living. A large wooden coffee table offsets the custom white sofa and sandy-colored rug, bringing weight to the room. Vintage decor and a chic leather accent chair complete the look and make us want to move right in.
An Inviting Dining Space
The dining room is a lesson in comfort and style with upholstered Arhaus chairs and a large wooden table. Designed for hosting friends and family, gathering around the table for a meal, or working from home, this space balances warm and cool tones for an effortless look. A plush modern rug grounds the room and adds extra comfort for foot traffic.
