Camp-Inspired Thanksgiving Table
Now that we’ve shown you the most formal look in our Thanksgiving Table Design, Three Ways series, we’re pivoting to a more casual affair. To help set the tone, we’ve swapped pillar candles for vintage lanterns and stoneware dinner plates for an enameled variation. We leaned into all the rustic camp vibes, incorporating loads of cozy texture and natural styling elements as a nod to the great outdoors.

Following suit with our post series, we’ve included fun extras like menu inspiration, a folksy fall playlist, and of course, sources to recreate the look. Whether you’re hosting a dinner for two or the whole extended family, this camp-inspired table is all about approachability and designed to put every guest at ease.
The Thanksgiving Table Design
This rustic Thanksgiving table design is coziness defined. The initial inspiration came from this chestnut-colored Glen Plaid Tablecloth by Heather Taylor Home. It has such a classic fall staple and really helped set the tone for the entire gathering. From there, we sourced vintage lanterns from a mix of antique stores, Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, and Vermont Lanterns. The idea was to curate a mismatched collection, so we opted for a variety of shapes, sizes, and finishes to get that perfectly imperfect look.
This table was about evoking a warm, cozy, and inviting feeling. We wanted a setting where everyone would feel at home, and considered that notion through every selection. The enameled dinner plates and mugs kept things casual, and the throw blankets added some extra texture to the mix.
We also included woven baskets to add to the vibe and as a practical means to transport plates, napkins, and extras to-and-from the house when entertaining outdoors. Natural fall foliage brought depth and color, while handkerchief-tied napkins and wood-handled flatware rounded out the details.
