Tour a Warm, Serene Tiburon Home Full of Heart
Tucked into the hills of Tiburon, California, this light-filled home tells a story of new beginnings. Designer Angela Scaletta approached the project with heart and intention, creating a serene retreat where a young couple could put down roots. What was once a stark, modern space is now a warm, welcoming haven—exactly as they imagined.
When a young couple traded city life in San Francisco for the quieter rhythms of Tiburon, they were ready to slow down and settle in. Their new home had great bones, but its stark, modern feel didn’t match the sense of warmth they were after. Designer Angela Scaletta helped them bring that feeling to the surface, layering in softness, texture, and just enough California ease to create a space that felt relaxed, intentional, and ready for whatever comes next.

From City Rush to Coastal Calm
For these homeowners, the move from the city to the suburbs was all about intention. Angela had to balance their present needs with a long-term vision: the couple wanted a peaceful retreat from city life that could also grow with them as they planned for a future family. Step inside and you’re greeted by a statement mirror and crisp white walls, painted in Decorator’s White by Benjamin Moore, which sets the tone for what’s to come. Even the furniture is light, calm, and thoughtfully placed to complement the desired mood.

Modern Comfort, With Room to Grow
The home’s layout feels open and inviting from the moment you step inside. A formal sitting area anchors the entryway, while the kitchen, dining room, and living space unfold together in a sun-drenched, interconnected flow. Angela leaned into casual California comfort in the living room just off the kitchen, making sure the space could accommodate conversations from every corner. It feels like a home made for connection where you’re never too far from the action (or from each other).

A Home That Speaks Their Language
Every corner of the home was designed with intention, and it shows—from the custom dining room built-ins by Ripon Woodworks and the custom L-shaped sofa from Sofa U Love to the thoughtfully layered accessories from The Marin Merchan throughout. Angela worked closely with the couple to ensure that every decision reflected their lifestyle and taste. One of the most personal touches is a striking art collection sourced entirely from local female artists, giving each space an added sense of soul and story.

An Invitation to Stay
The warmth extends beyond the main living areas into the bedrooms, where calm takes center stage. The primary and guest rooms strike a perfect balance between elevated and effortless, featuring layered boucle headboards, patterned sheets, and wool rugs (almost all sourced from Loloi Rugs). Natural light spills into every space, softening the modern architecture and making it feel lived-in and loved.
