From the beginning, founder Christina Cruz and her team sought to create interiors that felt layered, expressive, and deeply personal without becoming cluttered or overly precious. The clients—known for surprising one another with spontaneous airport reveals and embracing travel whenever possible, wanted a home that reflected their dynamic lifestyle. The resulting design weaves together collected art, bold color choices, and thoughtful details to create spaces that feel warm, youthful, and effortlessly cool.

Design Flexibility

The full interior design scope included space planning, color selection, furniture sourcing, lighting design, art curation, and styling across several key living areas. Throughout the home, Cruz prioritized multifunctionality, ensuring each room could evolve with the clients’ daily routines while still feeling welcoming when entertaining.

Moments of storytelling appear throughout the interiors through curated gallery walls, layered textures, and carefully chosen pieces. The result is a home that feels both intentional and relaxed, where design supports the homeowners’ lifestyle rather than dictating it.

A Loft Office with Depth and Personality

One of the most striking spaces in the home is the loft, which serves as a flexible home office, lounge, and guest area. To establish a moody, cocoon-like atmosphere, the design team applied a limewash finish in Color Atelier’s Ritual across the walls. The textured finish adds depth and warmth while allowing the room’s curated elements to stand out.

A marigold-hued sleeper sofa anchors the room, bringing a bold pop of color while offering practical flexibility for overnight guests. The homeowners’ neo-art collection—acquired during travels through Mexico and reflecting themes tied to the immigrant journey—is thoughtfully displayed throughout the space. These pieces add cultural significance and personal narrative, transforming the loft into a workspace that feels both inspiring and intimate.

A Dining Room for Gathering

In the dining room, Cruz embraced the home’s open-concept layout while carving out a distinct space dedicated to connection and entertaining. A curated gallery wall showcases artwork and trinkets collected by the homeowners during their travels, giving the room a layered, story-driven character.

At the center of the space sits an oval dining table paired with sculptural seating, creating a setting that feels elegant yet inviting. A dark walnut sideboard grounds the room with rich warmth while providing storage for entertaining essentials. Overhead, sculptural paper pendant lighting casts a soft, ambient glow, helping define the dining area while enhancing the intimate atmosphere.

A Bespoke Listening Bar

Just adjacent to the dining space, Cruz introduced one of the home’s most memorable features—a bespoke listening bar designed specifically for spinning records, pouring wine, and setting the mood when hosting. This space reflects the homeowners’ love of music, connection, and entertaining.

The listening bar adds another layer of personality to the home, turning everyday rituals into small celebrations and reinforcing the idea that the home should be experienced as much as it is admired.
